Cultivating loving, serving, and thinking kids through a nurturing, joyful, Christ-centered environment.
A good preschool is about far more than just learning letters and numbers. At Veritas Preschool, we believe in nurturing the whole child - mind, body, and spirit - through engaging, hands-on learning experiences that not only exceptionally prepare your child academically for Kindergarten, but also help them grow in their relationships and their appreciation of the beauty and wonder of God and the world around them.
Veritas Preschool integrates a thematic concept into all academic areas while incorporating a wide variety of active learning experiences. Music, reading, arts and crafts, gross-motor physical activity, sensory playtime, and more are all incorporated into our daily curriculum!
Each classroom’s instruction is unique to the teacher’s teaching techniques as well as to the students' needs. Activities are discovery-based through student participation in both large and small-group settings, classroom centers, and rotating learning centers. These developmentally-appropriate activities can also be scaffolded based on students' needs. Because we are part of Veritas Academy, students will also get additional enrichment with visits from our K-12 students and teachers from time to time to help enhance their learning experience! All themes are taught using Biblical principles as the basis for each unit.

Veritas Preschool integrates a thematic concept into all academic areas while incorporating a wide variety of engaging and hands-on learning experiences. We use themes to focus on the emergent interests of the children, keeping learning interesting and exciting as children explore using their five senses. Student/teacher interests allow flexibility of the learning themes, as long as the core areas of math, literacy, and Bible curriculum objectives are met.
Each classroom’s instruction is unique to the teacher’s established teaching techniques as well as to the students' needs. Planned activities are developmentally appropriate and are scaffolded based on the students needs. Activities are also discovery-based through student participation in both large and small-group settings, classroom centers, and rotating learning stations. All themes are taught using Biblical principles as the basis for each unit.
Veritas Preschool at Highland opened in September of 2014 as a branch of Veritas Academy, a Classical Christian School located in Leola, PA. The school sprung out of the desire to meet families' needs for a preschool that helps children prepare for success at school. During that process, God opened a door to unite Veritas Academy with Highland Presbyterian Church, a church that started one of the first preschools in Lancaster County (over fifty years ago). We are grateful and blessed that Veritas Preschool at Highland now carries on the great preschool tradition of Highland Presbyterian Church.
The preschool program is for 3 and 4 year olds and the prekindergarten is for 4 and 5 year olds. The preschool focuses on basic skills and social/emotional development. The prekindergarten focuses on academic and social preparation for kindergarten - and for life! In all classes, our overarching focus is developing a love for God and His Word in these precious little ones.
