Usually it takes me about 10 minutes to read the paper. Today, it took almost any hour. So much good stuff! The editorial pages were excellent. The best was George Will’s op-ed on Self Esteem warning parents of the danger of praising children for doing nothing. If you are a parent, stop and read this:
The picture of children not being given jump ropes because someone might not be able to jump them is a classic picture of one of the many maladies in our society today. Have your kids work hard when they are awake. Praise them when they do well. Let them fail when they fail and make sure they get enough sleep. Brilliant!
