Extraordinary Give

TheExtraOrdinary Give takes place on Friday, November 20, 2020! It's 24-hour period in which donations received through ExtraGive.org will be stretched and matched to go further than ever, and it's Veritas Academy's ONLY major fundraiser for 2020!

We've set our sights on an exciting, big, yet achievable goal of $60,000 for this year's ExtraOrdinary Give. And, if every family gets an average of 20 people to donate $20, we will reach it! We've got over $30,000 in matching funds committed already (and counting), with generous individuals and businesses at the ready to double and stretch your family and friends' donations.

We're so excited to occupy our entire building beginning in early 2021, and dollars raised during the ExtraGive will go towards:

• Reconfiguring our security system to protect our students
• Furniture for new offices and classrooms
• Painting and sprucing up the new areas we acquire
• Additional signage in many areas to enhance marketing and welcoming of new families
• Creating beautiful leisure areas where parents, teachers, and students can relax, study, and enjoy fellowship
• Much-needed improvements to the building's aging roof and HVAC system
• And of course, scholarships for Veritas students who need financial assistance

What Your Family Can Do Right Now

Your family has a HUGE part to play in making this year's ExtraOrdinary Give a success for Veritas Academy and help us earn much-needed funds to improve our facility, provide scholarship funds, and more! We're asking you to ask your friends and family to donate on November 20!

Pledge Form Deadline Extended

The new deadline for submission of the ExtraGive Pledge forms is Monday November 9th. Please take a photo of your pledge sheet and email it to extragive@veritasacademy.com, and post the original at home in a prominent place. 

Even if you only have a few names listed, please send us your form! We will include your contacts on our ExtraOrdinary Give promotion emails (don't worry, we won't "spam" them with other emails after the ExtraGive!).

Forms with 10 or more pledges will be eligible for a tasty Achenbach's treat, and those with 20 or more donors listed will be eligible for an additional warm beverage.  Only one form per family is needed.

Set Up Your Family Fundraising Page

Now it's time to set up your family's personal ExtraGive fundraising page, so that you can more easily share this giving opportunity with your friends and family! It takes a few steps and a few minutes, but it will go far in helping our school reach our $60,000 goal and helping your contacts feel inspired to "Give Extra!"

Here's how to set up your personal ExtraGive fundraising page:

1. Click Here to Set Up a GiveGab Account
   • This is the online platform used by the ExtraOrdinary Give.
   • We suggest making the "First Name" field your children's names (for example, First Name: Jack & Jill, Last Name: Hillclimber). Or, you can choose to use your family last name by making the first name "The" and last name "Hillclimbers."
2. Add Your Family as a Fundraiser for Veritas Academy
   • Next, click here to go to Veritas Academy's ExtraGive page.
   • Click the yellow button below the header image that says "Fundraise" and follow the steps.
3. Personalize Your Page
   • Go back to your GiveGab User Profile (that you set up first) and go to your "Toolkit" button listed in the Veritas ExtraGive box. 
   • You can add photos of your family or kids, along with a personal message about why you're raising money for Veritas (think of what makes your family love this school and tell all about it!).
   • You can even add a video if you want - it's a great opportunity for your kids to get involved in "making the ask."

4. Share With Your Friends and Family
   • Share the link of your family's Fundraising page with your potential donors via email, facebook, twitter, or text, asking them to "Save the Date" and to bookmark your link for November 20th.
     
   • Here are some points you should share with your donors:
     • We ask today that you save the date of November 20th, and bookmark our fundraising page.
     • We will contact you the week of November 20th, saying "this is the week!"
     • We will contact you on November 20th, to say "today's the day!" and to thank you for your donation.
   • You can use the Toolkit on your GiveGab profile or just copy and paste the link to share it.
5. Get Rewarded!
   • If your family creates and shares your own fundraising page with your potential donors by November 13, your students will earn a free Chick Fil A lunch on November 16th.
   • Email extragive@veritasacademy.com telling us you shared your page and include a screenshot of one of your messages or social media posts to ensure your reward!
