COLLEGE COUNSELING

We provide a comprehensive college counseling program at Veritas. Students and parents work together to create individualized plans for the future with our skilled counseling staff.  Our goal is to provide each student with the resources they need to navigate their own unique path to which God has called them.

9th Grade

• Creation of personalized student inventories to assess interests and abilities
• Numerous college and university presentations at Veritas
• College financial aid workshop for parents

10th Grade

• Reassessment of personalized student inventories to assess interests and abilities
• Numerous college and university presentations at Veritas
• Individual spring planning meetings with students and parents
• PSAT score interpretation sessions
• Field trips to local college fairs
• College financial aid workshop for parents

11th Grade

• Fall class workshops on standardized testing (PSAT, SAT, ACT) and overview of college admissions process
• Eight-session seminar covering various college selection topics
• Individual meetings with students/parents to identify college options
• Field trips to local college fairs
• College financial aid workshops

12th Grade

• Weekly individual meetings to review application progress and ensure completion of required materials
• Essay support and review
• Mock interviews for colleges and jobs
• FAFSA workshop for parents and students
• Individual spring meetings with families to evaluate financial aid awards and interpret specific options
