Ready to go out and brave the wind and snow? Kids itching to romp and play? We polled our families about their favorite sledding spots aound Lancaster County, and here is what they came back with:Veritas kids enjoy sledding at recess

  • Veritas Academy! Did you know that when there's snow on the ground, our students tote their sleds and snow gear to school to take adantage of the wide hill behind the school at recess? It's just one of the perks of attending Veritas Academy!
  • Bomberger's Hill, off Newport Road in Lititz. This was a common answer, with several families piping up claiming it as their favorite.
  • Roland Park in Akron. According to our third grade teacher Katie Zappitella, "they put plastic fencing along the road each year, as well as hay bales around the trees at the bottom of the hill, so it's pretty safe!"
  • Farmdale Elementary School was recommended by our Director of Administration, Jonathan Daughtrey.
  • Fulton Elementary School in Ephrata is a favorite of the Crooks family.
  • Brubaker Park in Fivepointville is frequented by many families.
  • St. Stephen Reformed Church and Christ the King Community church were mentioned as having some great on-site hills.
  • Buchanan Park in Lancaster is a perennial favorite among Lancaster County families.
